Castaway
We got to Castaway Cay about 8:30am. The Captain backed in which put the Flying Dutchman and the beach on our side of the ship!
We had our Champagne Breakfast today, which was part of the Romance Package. They give you a door hanger with the menu and the days of the week, so you can order it for whenever. There were several choices, Brenda had eggs benedict and I had an omlette, we shared a fruit cup and we each had coffee and a Mimosa. Dee-lish!!
After breakfast, we got off the ship and caught a ride to SerenityBay. In retrospect, I think we should have walked a little. We, neither one can walk very much, but, I think we could have taken our time and, at least walked over to the beach and then caught a ride. One of the residents had a golf cart and gave us our ride and said to have one of the guys working at SerenityBay call for us a ride back. We stayed at the beach for about an hour and got wet in the ocean. Brenda really wanted to spend more time in the water, but I was afraid of leaving everything on the beach… and it was a bit cold! You could see all these little fishes swimming around… but you had to look close, they’re almost transparent!
We went back on board the ship and went to the adult pool, which was deserted… but there were no towels! They took them all on shore! If you intend to take advantage of the deserted pools onboard while everyone else is on Castaway Cay, get some towels before you get there!
We decided to check out the Rainforest Room. Now, with the Romance Package, you get a pass for this for the length of the cruise, and we only went there once! What a waste! We should have taken time to visit there at least once a day! The stone lounges were empty, so, Brenda laid down on one and didn’t get up! I couldn’t sit still! I had to try out all the steam rooms and showers, as well as the lounges! Heavenly… Relaxing… AHhhhhhhhh……… We left there after about an hour. Brenda brought a towel out of the spa for the pool and she went in the pool by herself while I sat and relaxed in one of the chaise lounges. She did the “Chicken Dance”, trying to entice me into the pool with her, but I wouldn’t go in! I did, however, go into the hot tub with her after a while. When we left the pool and headed back to the room, we ran into Marko, our asst. server, moonlighting (sunlighting??) at Goofy’s or one of the others topside. We talked for about 5 minutes about his family and such. Finally we were back in the stateroom and guess what? We ordered coffee for the veranda!
