Update 11/26/08 Grand Cayman: To Tender Or Not To Tender: Tue 10/21/08
We gained an hour when we changed to Central Time last night. I ordered coffee from Room Service and sat on the veranda and watched as we came into the harbor and dropped anchor at about 6:30-6:45.

The Pirate ship is used in one of the excursions.
This is the only Western Caribbean port where Disney anchors and uses tender boats to go ashore. The Carnival Legend was Anchored next to us, but several hundred yards away, and one of the Celebrity Cruises ships was on the other side of the Carnival ship. If I ever got the name of the Celebrity ship, I didn’t write it down for some reason. No worries, we were on the only ship in the harbor that mattered!
Brenda wasn’t feeling well again, so stayed in bed as I watched the crew set up fore and aft for tendering. Apparently they will tender from our side! I went to Lumiere’s for breakfast by myself and had an omelet, toast, OJ, coffee and fruit. That was all very good and I enjoyed being waited on and fussed over, for they do try to make your dining experience a good one!
I took a fruit plate, well, a melon plate (the only item that was not melon was some pineapple slices!), back to the stateroom for Brenda for when she got up. I went back out on the veranda and just took it all in. I told DW we probably shouldn’t go ashore because you have to negotiate quite a few steps to get on the tender boat. This was true for the aft tender, the forward tender was a double decker and it looked like you walk right on to the upper deck of the boat, but then you have to go down stairs to get off the tender, and climb back up to the upper deck to get back on the ship.

Since we weren’t doing any excursions on Grand Cayman, we decided it wasn’t worth the tendering for us.
So, I let our housekeeper, Darwin, know that we would be staying in the room most of the day. He said that was OK, he would be going off duty in the afternoon, but would be back in the evening at 7pm. Brenda and I just hung out in the room.
I took some pictures around the room including the new flat panel tv and electrical outlets. These are the only ones available, so plan accordingly, they are all in the same area of the room!

We ordered lunch from room service. She had a cheeseburger and I had a hot dog!

I think I might have tried to take a nap, but mostly I stayed on the veranda and filmed the goings on in harbor.
