When Dreams of Magic came True

Sea Day

Update Seasick… Or just the jitters? Mon 10/20/08; Part I

I was up at about 5am today. Our friend, the stow-a-way bird was still there.

After I had awakened him, he eventually flew on to explore more of the ship. Last night, Brenda and I both complained of a slight stomach ache and feeling a bit run down. I’m pretty sure it was a slight bout with seasickness, as we were in the open ocean now, and there was more movement in the ship. Whatever it was, it didn’t want to go away, so, when Brenda woke up and was feeling the same, we each took a Dramamine. We had our coffee on the veranda.

I looked through the Navigator and saw that there was going to be a talk on planning a future cruise in Diversions’ lounge at 9:30 this morning. The Dramamine worked for me and I was starting to feel better. It made my DW extra sleepy, however, so she went back to bed. Pills are like that with her, if it says “may cause drowsiness”… it will knock her out! So, by 9:15 she was still down for the count and did not feel like walking across the ship, so I went to the future cruise planning meeting on my own. The Future Cruise Cast Member, Jocelyn, gave the presentation. I think that helping guests with future cruise planning is all that Jocelyn does, and from what I saw of her, she was kept busy the whole cruise. She went over the new cruise itineraries for 2009 and 2010. She went over all the incentives they were offering to help you make up your mind, and they were good! 1.10% discount for booking onboard. 2.$100-200 stateroom credit 3.(and this was the kicker) ½ off the deposit! This offer works for as many rooms as you have people in your party, so we could book 2 rooms for a future cruise with that deal! I got the literature and headed back to the stateroom, I couldn’t make any decisions without Brenda. She was still very sleepy, so I went on up to Topsiders to scrounge for some breakfast. Once again, the buffet didn’t disappoint! I filled a plate with tomatoes and cheese and a hamlike meat, Italian tomatoes with melted cheese on top, a ham & cheese croissant, and scrambled eggs and toast. After filling up there, I just walked around and took pictures of decks 9 and 10

I went back to the stateroom and Brenda was starting to feel better, so she got up and got ready for the day. She was getting hungry now, so we went to Topsiders for some lunch. This was about 1pm, and I was still full from my late breakfast! We filled our plates with delicious food and had a good, relaxing lunch.

After lunch, we had to get back to the stateroom to get ready for Palo, because our “tea time” at 3pm was creeping up on us!
